How Timber Is Sold
Clear Creek Forestry can help you get the most dollar for your
timber. Our experts monitor each step in the sales process to
ensure the process is fair and equitable for you.
Selling timber includes:
- Marking the trees to be harvested.
- Developing the volume reports for the marked trees.
- Sending bid packages to potential buyers.
- Holding a sealed bid opening, usually in three weeks.
All bids are opened at the same time and place.
- At the landowner's approval, the high bidder is normally selected as purchaser. Signing a timber sale contract, in which the purchaser has a given time period to remove the marked trees from the tract.
- Supervising and approving the entire harvesting operation from start completely through sale reclamation and closure.
- The sales are strictly supervised on a regular basis by a Clear Creek Forestry.
